In November 2023, 1Filipino Foundation’s President & Executive Director and Past President of Rotary Club of Makati East & PCCI -Makati President Nunnatus A. Cortez proposed to conduct a Transformative Medical Mission and collaborate with various esteemed organizations. After that, the LGU of Lipa Batangas and Mt. Malarayat Golf & Country Club were consulted regarding the venue by the Foundation Project Manager Richard P. De la Rosa. These organizations worked closely together to fulfill their obligations for the aforementioned medical mission. Minor surgeries, and dental and optical examinations, including potential cataract operations were carried out by the Makati Medical CenterFoundation, Inc.
Under the leadership of Dr. Victor Gisbert. Medical check-ups, including FSB, CBC, Urinalysis, physical examinations, special tests like ECG, ultrasound, and X-rays, as well as free medicines for diabetes, hypertension, and other conditions, were provided by 1Filipino and 1Life Inc. With President & Executive Director Nunnatus Cortez’ initiative. Physicians for Peace, led by President Lyn Abanilla, performed the screenings for cervical cancer and breast cancer. Under the enthusiastic direction of Dr. Mildred Vitangcol, Rotary Club of Makati Uptown, Inner Wheels Manila, HELP Pilipinas will assess patients with cleft lips & cleft palate for surgery, and prosthetic limbs.
Furthermore, the Lipa Medical Society, led by Dr. Michael Mapalad provided physicians who did the physical examinations. ANR Unlimited resources, with their Chairman and CEO Arnel Racadio provided Makati Medical Center Foundation Medical staff with a 42-seater bus for transport. All partners and benefactors’ food and accommodation,venue, and manpower arrangements were partially shouldered by ACTIVE Group and Mount Malarayat Golf & Country Chairman of the Board, Arch Tony Turalba, and Tina Turalba.
A few days before the medical mission, 1Filipino Foundation President &Executive Director and past President of Rotary Club of Makati East and PCCI President Nunnatus A. Cortez was interviewed by DZRH. He explained the main objective of the impactful medical mission was to make a difference in other people’s lives. He narrated the long planning and coordination he and other leaders of various esteemed organizations went through to pull off a successful medical mission.

Inners Wheel Manila and HELP Pilipinas, from PCCI-Makati were its Chairman Rafaelito Solangon and Director Arnel Racadio, from RC Makati East were its President Glenn de Leon and other members, from Rotary Club of Kwai Chung (HK) was President Lim Chen San and Project Manager Richard P. Dela Rosa.
Mt. Malarayat’s multi-purpose hall was prepared as the medical mission venue with six designated areas. Upon arrival Mt. Marayat, the foundation provided food for the team from Culinary Adventures Inc. At 8:00 am, the mission started.
About one thousand one hundred eighty-two (1,182) beneficiaries residing near Mt. Malarayat Golf & Country Club and nearby barangays arrived and were treated that day. The medical mission provided free health care services which included minor surgeries and dental procedures, eye examinations, consultations with onsite doctors and telemedicine, laboratory tests such as ECG, urinalysis,
Random blood sugar, total cholesterol, uric acid and fetal doppler, vital signs such as weight, pulse rate, temperature, O2 saturation and blood pressure free and summary of print out results with doctor’s advice, request and prescription and free medicines ( as attached in Annex A & B) the two-day medical mission was carried out successfully. A total of Php 2, 912, 624.36 was raised as a result of the sustained efforts and hard work of 1Filipino Foundation President and Executive Director and Past President of Rotary Club of Makati East and PCCI-Makati President Nunnatus A. Cortez. It was finished at exactly 5:00 pm March 17, 2024. No Incident was noted during the conduct of the mission.
